01.11.2021 - At the Market Tonight

Happy Monday! We're back and ready for another lovely evening, safely shopping outdoors for our favorite provisions.  We have something for every diet, including fresh produce and handcrafted kombucha, artisan cheese and fresh-baked bread, thoughtfully crafted sweets and delicious dinners to go.  Winter Park Pie Company is back for another pop-up.  Teri's tiny pies make the perfect personal treat!  We're also excited to welcome back Edward's Gourmet Confections after a brief holiday break.  

As a weekly reminder in these pandemic times, we will continue to provide hand-washing facilities and will maintain a setup that allows for plenty of space between vendor booths.  We have masks and gloves on hand for anyone who needs them - just stop by the HQ booth and ask.  Please continue to limit to one party per booth at a time, and maintain a safe distance from your fellow shoppers.

01.04.2021 - At the Market Tonight

Happy New Year! It's a beautiful day for a market, and we're ready to kick off the new year our neighbors and lots of local goodies.  As always, we'll have all kinds of options for you to start the year off right, with fresh produce, tasty dinner options, plenty of healthy provisions, and more.  

As we venture into 2021, we want to thank our vendors, market team, and YOU for getting us this far.  The pandemic and its complications made for a challenging year for everyone, and we are exceedingly grateful that the market has survived so far.  In March, we had to close the market for two months to make adjustments.  In 11 years in operation, we had never closed for more than 2 consecutive markets.  We worried about the amazing farms and small businesses we worked with, and we missed getting our weekly dose of community and local food.  

With the help of our amazing and enterprising vendors, our friends/host at Stardust, and our team, we were able to re-open with a social-distanced layout and get back to doing what we do best: connecting local farmers, makers, and producers with our neighbors and friends.  Thanks to the generous support of Feeding Florida, we were able to provide unlimited matching to new and existing SNAP shoppers, providing Florida-grown fruits and vegetables to families during a time of economic need.  We even added some new vendors along the way, growing our market family.  

So THANK YOU, Orlando.  We're grateful to be a part of your community and look forward to helping you keep eating and shopping local for years to come.  

And when you're out shopping this evening, please say extra thanks to Isabelle at the Market HQ.  This endeavor takes a lot of dedication and passion, and we definitely would not have made it through this time without Isabelle as the steadfast on-site market manager.  There isn't enough thanks in the world for her.

Happy Monday!  We can't believe it's already the last market before Christmas.  We're looking forward to seeing you out at Stardust on this first day of Winter in your best holiday sweaters (or whatever makes you cozy).  There's plenty to stock up on for the holiday, including last-minute gifts for the food lovers in your life.  Thrown by Hand is making a pop-up appearance to with gift-worthy functional pottery, and there are plenty of special gourmet gifts, from sweets to artisan goat cheese.  Grab all the ingredients for some holiday meals, stock up on tasty provisions, and help make it an extra special holiday for our hard-working farmers and producers.

12.07.2020 - At the Market Tonight

It's December and we are certainly having a "wintery" day here in Central Florida.  We think it will make for a lovely evening at the market, grabbing a hot chocolate or tea (or Toddy!) and stocking up on local essentials.  CM Bakari is back with fresh bread this week.  If you met Cesar last week, you know how delicious it is, and how quickly it sells out.  In addition to loaves and baguettes (pair so well with fresh Slow Turtle Farm goat cheese and jam from Second Breakfast), he is featuring cardamom buns - perfect for this weather.  We also have Thrown By Hand here again this week - visit Kim for some very giftable handmade pottery! 

And of course, there'll be plenty of provisions, including produce from Zenn Naturals, Microganic Farm, Fleet Farming, and Florida Salad King; Kombucha from our friends at Orlando City; Raw Vegan goods from the Live Food Experience; Raw Dairy from Heart of Christmas; Baked Sweets from Edward's Gourmet Confections; and Florida Seafood from Wild Ocean. Whew! That's quite a list!

11.30.2020 - At the Market Tonight

It's Market Monday! We hope you had a lovely holiday weekend, and that good local food was on the menu.  This week we are diving right into holiday season, featuring a pop-up appearance by Thrown by Hand pottery.  Artist Kim Sager crafts beautiful, functional pottery that makes for great gifts for food enthusiasts.  We are partial to the salt bowls and assorted small prep bowls.  We are also featuring a pop-up appearance from Winter Park Pie Company.  If you met baker Teri a couple of weeks ago, you probably already love the mini-pies she offers; just the right size to let you mix and match flavors!

And while we're on the topic of baked goods, we’re excited to welcome CM Bakari to the market family, offering artisan breads, specializing in sourdough!!  Please be sure to welcome Cesar and check out what he has to offer.

11.23.2020 - At the Market Tonight

It's Market Monday!  We hope everyone is preparing for a safe holiday meal this week.  Whatever your celebration looks like, there's plenty of local food to incorporate into the meal.  There may be some fresh, pastured turkeys available from Azalea Acres Farm, but they're first come, first serve.  Grab fresh herbs and veggies from Zenn Naturals and Fleet Farming, micro greens from Microganic Farm and Florida Salad King, and mushrooms from Fungi Jon at the Florida Salad King booth (on special today!).  And don't forget to pick up some Florida Cranberry preserves from Second Breakfast, made with Roselle and perfect for your holiday meal. 

We'll have all that and many more provisions at the market tonight. 

As a weekly reminder in these pandemic times, we will continue to provide hand-washing facilities and will maintain a setup that allows for plenty of space between vendor booths.  We have masks and gloves on hand for anyone who needs them - just stop by the HQ booth and ask.  Please continue to limit to one party per booth at a time, and maintain a safe distance from your fellow shoppers.

It's Market Monday!  We're feeling pretty lucky about this weather, and are very much looking forward to getting some fresh air while we shop local.  Our friends from Fleet Farming are finally back at market tonight, and they've partnered up with Ever Oak Farm and Winter Park Urban Farm to offer a larger variety of fresh-picked local produce.  We're looking forward to adding them back into the mix!  We are also featuring a pop-up by Winter Park Pie Company, just in time for the holiday season.  Hopefully this will become a regular thing!

Well, hello Tropical Storm Eta!  It sure is hard to believe there's another storm out there, but it is 2020, so that's that.  We'll be out there this evening, rain or shine, because we have local food to put out into the world!  Fingers crossed that it stays mild out there for us!
