We're Celebrating 10 Years of Markets at Stardust!

audobonmarketdrawing_byMayan.jpg

We can hardly believe it, but we’re hitting the 10-year mark on February 4th! That’s 10 years of night markets in the Stardust parking lot, working with an incredible variety of farmers, food entrepreneurs, artists, fishmongers, ranchers, makers, bakers, neighbors and friends. In that time, we’ve gotten to know a lot more about our community, and about what it takes to build and grow a local business. We’re looking forward to celebrating this landmark the way we know best; with delicious food and a community gathering.

In addition to the awesome vendors there’ll be some pop-up appearances from some of our favorite past market vendors, including

  • Bird of Paradise Foods from the incomparable Emily Rankin (founder of this very market!)

  • Buttermilk Bakery

  • Chef Jes Tantalo

  • Kadence

  • Orlando Meats

We’re also doing some hourly giveaways, with prizes ranging from market goods to gift certificates, with a little help from our friends at Stardust Video & Coffee, Park Ave CDs, Redlight Redlight, and Audubon Park Garden District! All you have to do is show us your social media check-in or take a photo in our PhotoBooth to be entered to win hourly prizes.

Our favorite part of the celebration is that we are going to get to share it with you, our neighbors and friends. We can’t wait to share meals and memories with all of you!

Well, we sure do talk about the weather a lot, and today is no exception.  It's a lovely but chilly day, so our team is getting ready to bundle up so that we can still enjoy all the incredible local goods our vendors have to offer.

We have some new vendors joining our amazing lineup tonight.  The Nutty Peanut will be out there with locally-made, small batch specialty peanut butter.  We'll also meet Nicole Macaron, with handcrafted, gluten free macarons in a variety of flavors.  Rounding out the new vendors is Biofarm, offering hand-harvested local honey.

So grab that winter coat and sip on a hot toddy as you shop our wonderful little market!

We hope to see you tonight!

Cheers,

Gabby Lothrop
Market Director

Be sure to check with our awesome bakers and other makers about special orders for your holiday celebrations - many of them can take your order right at the market!  In addition to my normal haul of fresh produce and bread, I'll start stocking up on pickles, root vegetables, and other hardy provisions that will last me until the market returns on January 7th!

We're just days away from Thanksgiving, and it's a great opportunity to share what we're thankful for.  It's pretty obvious: we're thankful for our amazing market community!  We are so fortunate to get to work with such incredible farmers, working with the land in urban, suburban, and rural settings.  And we are grateful to learn from the skilled artisans who share family recipes and the fruits of kitchen time to bring us all the delicious pickled, baked, preserved, blended, fermented and pressed goods made with love.  And of course, we're so thankful for the neighbors and new friends who support us and our vendors every week, participating in the local food economy by shopping and eating deliciously.

We hope to see you tonight!

Cheers,

Gabby Lothrop
Market Director
