07.20.2020 - At the Market Tonight
/We checked the forecast: it's just as hot as you would expect it to be in Florida in July, but there's a 100% chance that we'll be there anyway, supporting local businesses and getting our local food for the week.
We talk a lot about how the selections change pretty drastically in the summer, especially when it comes to produce. While we work hard to make sure as much variety as possible is available at the market, we stick to our commitment to bring you Florida-grown and Florida-made foods every week. Sometimes the drop in produce availability can make it hard to imagine making it through the summer, but it's important to us to continue supporting all the businesses that power through these tough months, making their products available year-round. We hope you'll join us in thanking our awesome vendors for sticking it out!
We’re still accepting District Dollars from the Audubon Park Garden District - if you have them, bring them on down! If you’re not familiar, check out this awesome program from our neighborhood Main Street organization. Details are available here. We also accept SNAP for all eligible items, and will continue to provide unlimited matching through the end of July. So if you’re shopping with SNAP, we’ll match your spending with Fresh Access Bucks, which will buy you Florida-grown fruits, vegetables, and edible plants/seeds. More details on that here.
As a weekly reminder in these pandemic times, we will continue to provide hand-washing facilities and will maintain a setup that allows for plenty of space between vendor booths. We have masks and gloves on hand for anyone who needs them - just stop by the HQ booth and ask. Please continue to limit to one party per booth at a time, and maintain a safe distance from your fellow shoppers.
We hope to see you at the market.
With Gratitude,
Gabby Lothrop
Market Director
