Happy Monday! We're already dreaming of "Fall" over here, trying to remember what the cooler months with a bigger selection of produce are like. Chef Jes Tantalo is taking it a step further this week by featuring her "Pumpkin Spice Dumplings," which are actually Szechuan flavors including fresh pumpkin, chives, ginger, garlic, and Szechuan peppercorns. Did you know that most squashes are actually available from the Barefoot Farmer right now? We don't even have to wait for a national coffee chain to declare the start of the season! You can pick up butternut, acorn, pattypan, and spaghetti squashes at the market tonight!

09.09.2019 - We're back at the market tonight!

Happy Monday! It's been a strange couple of weeks, and we are ready to get back into the routine of seeing and buying from our favorite local purveyors! Chef Jes Tantalo is back tonight to partner up with Wild Ocean Seafood. Hurricane Dorian caused a temporary shortage of fresh fish, so they'll be substituting a delicious rock shrimp dish for the usual fish tacos. We can't wait to see what they cook up!

In light of the uncertainty surrounding Hurricane Dorian, we’ve decided to skip the market on September 2nd. We hate canceling EVER, and we hope everyone weathers the storm safely. As soon as we can, we’ll be right back at it, supporting local food and farmers!

It's Monday again, and we're excited about all the local goodness that's in store. We have a new beekeeper joining the market tonight! Stop by the Wild Bee Honey booth to meet Garrett and learn about all the varieties of Florida Honey he has to offer. Orlando Farm Life is also repping the local honey, from Lake Meadow Naturals farm, and are offering all kinds of specials this week (see below). For most of our neighbors, today was the first day of school!  We hope everyone's school year is off to a great start, and we have lots of options from convenient dinner to wholesome groceries available for tonight. 07.29.2019 - Rain or Shine at the Market Tonight

Welcome back to Monday! We're gearing up for another rain or shine market this week, and we're excited to welcome back The Barefoot Farmer.  Last week, farmer Paul had to cancel last minute because of nasty weather out at the farm.  He couldn't harvest in those conditions, and we don't blame him!  He is planning to be back this week with the summer crops his farm has to offer.  We're super grateful to him and any other growers who tough it out in the Florida summer.  While this weather is great for growing tropicals (chayote squash, mangos, avocados, longevity spinach, etc), it's really tough to grow a lot of the veggies most of us are used to eating. The extreme heat, flooding rains, and aggressive bugs give growers a run for their money!  Paul is holding down the fort this season with squashes, cucumbers, peppers, okra, basil, and some select other offerings.  While we dream of the bounty coming in the cooler months, we'll be feasting on cucumber salads, and throwing just about everything else on the grill (oh-so-easy!).

07.08.2019 - Rain or Shine at the Market Tonight

Happy Monday! Our team hopes you had a lovely holiday weekend, filled with delicious meals and good company. I can't think of a better way to get back to our routines than going to market and mapping out my meals for the week. It's always great to start with what's fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully-made to help inspire the week's menus. Once I get all the great stuff our awesome vendors have to offer, I make a list of items I may need to supplement from the grocery store. Last week was all about grilled seafood and veggies; let's see what this week has in store! I'll ponder it tonight while I'm dining on fish tacos from Chef Jes Tantalo and Wild Ocean Seafood.

07.01.2019 - At the Market Tonight

Rabbit, Rabbit! It's a new month and we are feeling the summer vibes (and heat). It's a good day to stock up on goodies for the coming holiday weekend, from snacks and grilling provisions to sweets and cool beverages. If outdoor cooking is on your agenda, stock up on grill-friendly goodies like Lion's Mane mushrooms from Nearby Naturals, Florida shrimp from Wild Ocean Seafood (be sure to get your pre-orders in before 2:30), and fresh zucchini from The Barefoot Farmer. We fully intend to have all three of those options, and more, on our own 4th of July menu.

Theo Moon will be serenading us with live music starting at 7, so grab dinner and a drink to enjoy before or after you do your shopping!
